Japanese Princess gives up her royal status to marry a 'Beach' Worker

A Japanese princess will give up her royal status when she marries a beach tourism worker she met in a restaurant.
Princess Mako, the granddaughter of Japan's emperor, is getting married to ocean lover Kei Komuro who can ski, play the violin and cook, it has been claimed.
The man who won the princess' heart, was a fellow student at International Christian University in Tokyo, where Princess Mako, 25, also graduated.
Once they say 'I do', she will lose her status - despite being Emperor Akihito's granddaughter - as Japanese tradition dictates and become a commoner.
They met at a restaurant in Tokyo's Shibuya about five years ago at a party to talk about studying abroad, and have been seeing more of each other in recent months.
Komuro has worked as 'Prince of the Sea' to promote tourism to the beaches of Shonan in Kanagawa prefecture, a report on public broadcaster NHK said.
Women can't succeed to the Chrysanthemum Throne in Japan.
Mako's father and her younger brother are in line to succeed Emperor Akihito.
But the process building up to the wedding is likely to take some time and be full of ritual, as Japanese nuptials, especially royal ones, tend to be.
First there will be an announcement, the equivalent of an engagement, and then a date for the wedding will be picked when the couple will make a formal report to the emperor and empress.
NHK said Mako has already introduced Komuro to her parents, and they approve.
Unlike royalty in Great Britain and other European countries, the emperor and his family tend to kept away from the public eye, although they travel abroad and appear at cultural events.
Therefore, little is known of the princess other than she was a student at the International Christian University (ICU) in Tokyo in April 2010.
In doing so, she became the first member of the Japanese imperial family to attend university, according to Mainichi.
As part of her arts and cultural property studies, she attended the University of Edinburgh in Scotland on an exchange.
Having finished at ICU, Princess Make returned to Britain where she gained a masters in art museum and gallery studies from the University of Leicester in January 2016.
She is currently working as an affiliate researcher the University Museum of the University of Tokyo whilst combining a doctorate programme at ICU.

Junaid Mohammed’s bunkum and the final battle for Nigeria’s independence by Femi Fani-Kayode

“If anything happens to Buhari the north will insist on being in power till 2027…those who see Buhari as their representative and are not being treated justly are going to claim their own rights and the only way you are going to resolve the issue is that after Buhari’s administration, you have it zoned to the north for eight to 10 years”- Dr. Junaid Mohammed, Punch Newspaper, 14th May 2017.

This is bunkum! There is no such thing as “insisting” on anything in a democratic setting.

Dr. Junaid Mohammed is out of touch with reality and he speaks only for the lunatic ultra-conservative wing of the core northern Muslim ruling elite to which he belongs.

He is so extreme that he makes the die-hard Arewaists and core northern supremacists look like saints.
He does not speak for moderate, reasonable, rational and God-fearing core northerners.
The truth is that the lunatic fringe and ephemeral “north” and the ultra conservative extremists and hegemonistic cabal that he represents is no longer in a position to insist on ANYTHING because this is a democracy.
The fact of the matter is that the glorious days of the all-powerful “Kaduna Mafia” are long over!
There is no question of any form of coercion or compulsion in this matter.
If the core north wants the Presidency in 2019 they must appeal to the rest of the nation to give it to them and they must work hard for it.
And it can only be given to them as a result of hard negotiation and consensus and not by threats.
Nothing must be taken for granted. It will not be given to them as of right but, if at all, it will be conceded to them as a consequence of the freely exercised will of the Nigerian people from both the north and the south.
We do not operate a monarchical system of government in Nigeria and no single individual or group of people have a “divine right to rule”.
The title of “born to rule” is not only provocative, insulting, unsavoury and distasteful but it is also inimical to and incompatible with every form and tenet of decency and justice that is known to man.
It cannot be engendered, tolerated or sustained in a democratic dispensation and setting where the rule of law prevails and where every citizen, regardless of gender, ethnicity or faith, is deemed to be equal before God and has the right to vote.
Nigeria does not have and neither does she desire a master-race of blue-blooded core northern aristocrats to run her affairs and she is not a Saudi Arabian or ISIL-like caliphate that is ruled and governed by a set of antiquated and archaic feudal and theocratic laws.
Our jurisprudence and system of government is based on a proud and strong Judeo-Christian foundation which is enshrined and embedded in equity, decency, tolerance, liberalism and justice for all.
No individual, no matter how highly exalted or revered, and no ethnic group, no matter how innovative, resourceful or well-endowed, can laud it over the entire nation, impose their will on us or tell us what to do.
That is the bitter truth and that is the Nigeria of 2017: a nation where a new generation of young and dynamic political activists and leaders are silently emerging who are not prepared to settle for the insults, indignities and tiny crumbs that the older generation were prepared to live with and tolerate for so many years.
The truth is that if anything happens to Buhari nothing will happen and Nigeria will move on.
If anything happens to Buhari, the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will continue his term of office with full powers, he will have the support of the Nigerian people and he will finish his tenure hail and hearty.
If anything happens to Buhari in 2019 Nigeria may have a southern President after which the country may be restructured.
If anything happens to Buhari the south and the Middle Belt will NOT go on bended knee to beg and appease the north and we will not be moved or intimidated by the usual threats of carnage and violence by the likes of dark and sinister men like Junaid Mohammed.
If anything happens to Buhari it will be a defining moment and we will know whether ours will remains a nation at peace with itself or a theater of bloody conflict and civil war.
On Sunday 14th of May, Chief A.K. Horsfall, the former Director General of Nigeria’s State Security Services (SSS) and National Intelligence Service (NIA) and one of the most revered and respected figures in the intelligence community, told the Sun Newspaper that “Nigeria is sitting on a time-bomb”.
He is absolutely right. Some of us warned that things would eventually come to this as far back as two years ago but as usual the shallow-minded skeptics, the ignorant dullards, the undiscerning fools and the cowardly compromisers amongst us brushed aside our concerns and paid no heed to our fears.
Instead they insulted us and labelled us as enemies of the system, alarmists and prophets of doom. Now we are in a real mess as the clouds of conflict are gathering and the drums of war are beating.
Sadly everything that we said would happen two years ago has come to pass and today Nigeria is a nation that is on the brink.
The fear and tension in the land is palpable as the quest for power has once again started.
Yet those that insist on power remaining in the core north till 2027 are relentless. They are not prepared to give an inch and they are already preparing the ground for the worst case scenario.
This is sad and most unwise but no-one is intimidated. The bitter truth is that if they insist on carnage, conflict and violence I say let it come and let us consider it to be the final battle in the war for Nigeria’s independence.
We won our independence from the British, our erstwhile external colonialmasters, in 1960 after my distinguished father, Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode Q.C. S.A.N, C.O.N, proudly and successfully moved the motion for Nigeria’s independence in Parliament in 1958.
Today, by this contribution, I hereby move the motion for Nigeria’s independence from our all-powerful internal colonial masters and I decree and declare that by 2019 we will be free and truly liberated from their hegemony and subjugation.
Some have threatened to impose their will on us by the force of arms and by the usage of savage and relentless religious and ethnic militias and standing armies like the Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram if we do not accept their bondage.
Yet we cannot be intimidated. If they refuse to relent, if they unleash violence and havoc on our people and if they insist on holding on to power in perpetuity we will defend ourselves and we will resist, oppose and fight them.
With or without the support of our beleaguered, and overwhelmed elders we will fight them.
With or without the backing of our conflicted, compromised and timid political leaders we will fight them.
As long as God is alive and Jesus sits on the throne we will fight them.
We will fight them physically, spiritually, intellectually, psychologically and in every other way.
We will fight them on the land, in the sea and in the air.
We will fight them in every visible and invisible realm and on every tangible and intangible plain.
Our enemies are not the ordinary people of the core north but those misguided elites who believe that they own Nigeria, who see the rest of us as nothing butchattel, who treat us like field hands and slaves and who believe that our lives are worth less than the lives of their cows.
We cannot be expected to love our oppressors and to cheer them on whilst they are attempting to cut off our balls and castrate our people.
We cannot be expected to love those who see us and ours as nothing more than animals that are to be caged and treated like the scum of the earth.
Nigeria is a modern nation-state and not a primitive Islamist caliphate. And neither is she Nazi Germany or Apartheid South Africa. There is NO “master-race” here.
Our forefathers fought and died for us to be a nation of equals and not a nation of horse and horse-riders, slaves and slave-owners or masters and serfs.
To those that see themselves as Nigeria’s Aryan race I say “enough is enough”.
To those that seek to establish an apartheid enclave in our shores and that see themselves as the all-conquering white Boers of Nigeria, I say “you are playing with fire”.
To those that kill us, torment us, enslave us, deride us, denigrate our people, ridicule our faith and believe that we are nothing but the biblical and proverbial “hewers of the wood” and “drawers of the waters”, I say sheath your bloody swords and stop this madness before you set our nation ablaze.
Yet it is not too late. Once they drop their born to rule disposition we can be friends.
Once they rid themselves of the misguided notion that they must dominate and rule over us in perpetuity we can love them again and treat them like our brothers and compatriots.
Once they “let my people go” all hostility and enmity will vanish, God’s terrible judgement will be lifted and the curse that plagues them will be rescinded.
That is the way forward. That is the path of peace which provides us with the potential for a joyous, fruitful and prosperous new beginning.
But as long as they hold on to their misguided and misplaced notions of ethnic and religious supremacy it shall be like oil and water between us.

NURTW, Motorists jubilate over ban of VIOs in Lagos roads

Danfo Drivers.JPG
Some motorists and transport unions on Wednesday expressed big relief at the recent ban of Vehicle Inspection Officers from Lagos roads
The Lagos residents, who spoke in separate interviews with the news agency  of Nigeria, commended the state government for the ban, saying that it would ease the flow of traffic on the roads.
Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, Lagos State Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, told NAN that the development would bring positive change to gridlocks across the state.
“The ban is a welcome development and will allow free flow of traffic across the state. At times, some of the traffic congestion that motorists encounter are due to the activities of the Vios on the roads. Many times, traffic stalls and builds up while the VIO personnel are checking vehicle particulars on the roads.
“Checking vehicle particulars using technology is definitely the way to go to ensure that road users are not hampered in any way,’’ Agbede said.
He urged motorists to visit VIO offices to renew their licences and maintain the road worthiness standards of their vehicles.
“I advise transporters and other motorists to maintain sanity on the roads and not flout traffic laws due to the ban on VIO officials,’’ the NURTW chairman cautioned.
A commercial driver, Mr Wale Akinsanya, said he was happy over the ban because it would reduce traffic jams on the roads.
Mrs Dorcas Ogunnaike, a motorist in Lagos, was, however, of the opinion that the ban on VIOs would result in the return of rickety vehicles to the roads.

Audu Maikori sues Governor El-Rufai for N10billion following his arrest and detention

Nigerian entertainment mogul and social activist, Mr. Audu Maikori has sued the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for the gross violation of his human rights.
In a suit (FHC/ABJ/CS/385/17) filed by his lawyers, Ballason’s Chambers at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Mr. Maikori, is seeking damages against Governor El-Rufai to the tune of N10 billion.

According to details of the suit, which came up for hearing before the trial judge, Hon. Justice John Tsoho on Tuesday, 16th May, 2017, Mr. Maikori prayed the court to enforce his fundamental rights against undue harassment and intimidation by the Kaduna State government, the State Governor and the Nigerian Police.
Mr. Maikori, an indigene of Southern Kaduna had been at the forefront of advocacy to bring the world’s attention to the Southern Kaduna carnage following admittance by the Kaduna State Governor that he had paid the Fulani herdsmen aggressors in the region to stop the killings.
Mr. Maikori was arrested by the Nigeria Police on charges of incitement based on a petition by the Kaduna State government attributed to a tweet, which he later retracted and apologized for when he discovered his driver had lied to him to obtain money fraudulently.
After intense social media pressure, he was released on bail and subsequently cleared of any complicity by the Police Force Headquarters only to be re-arrested again and whisked off to Kaduna after Governor El-Rufai publicly vowed to prosecute him during the Social Media Week 2017.
Following his detention for four (4) days, he was charged to a Kaduna State Magistrate Court under Section 24 of the Cybercrime Act of 2015 but released on bail on medical grounds.

Acting president Osinbajo confirms rescue of another Chibok girl

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed that another Chibok school girl has been found. This development comes barely 12 days after 82 of the abducted school girls were released by Boko Haram members in exchange for some of their imprisoned commanders. Osinbajo announced the new development during the Federal Executive Council meeting which he chaired Wednesday.
Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed the report. He says the Defense headquarters have confirmed that the girl has been found but that the details of the report is still sketchy.

The ringing of coup bells and a cause for deep concern by Fani Kayode

I am very worried now. Ever since 1966 the northern ruling class has ALWAYS effected a coup d'etat whenever they feel sufficiently threatened with the loss of power.
The only time that they failed to do this, to their eternal regret, was when President Goodluck Jonathan succeeded President Umaru Yar"Adua after the latter's death in 2010.
Up until today they blame my friend and brother Lt. Abdulrahman General Dambazau for that failure and they felt he was weak and cowardly.
This is because he was the Chief of Army Staff at the time and he did not strike.
He paid a heavy price for his "weakness" and for not doing their bidding a few years later because when Buhari came to power in 2015 instead of appointing him Minister of Defence or National Security Advisor, which is what he had originally been penned down for, he appointed him as Minister of Interior which is far less strategic and important.
As a consequence of his "failure" to strike they had to endure Jonathan for 5 long years and their response was to covertly support and encourage Boko Haram to make parts of the country "ungovernable" and to organised the whole Chibok girls affair, in collusion with a notable foreign intelligence agency and foreign Government, to get him out by 2015.
President Muhammadu Buhari was "elected" into office that year and now his fate is similar to Yar'Adua's. He is chronically ill and he is NOT coming back to lead and rule as he once did because he will NEVER be the same again.
Once he dies the northern ruling class have already decided on what to do.
They will give Vice President Yemi Osinbajo an ultimatum and they will threaten him and ask him to resign.
They have resolved that they will not allow power to go to the south and they will encourage their senior officers in the military to effect a coup.
In doing so they are only doing what they have ALWAYS done when they feel sufficiently threatened with the loss of power. That is their way. And that is the measure of their ruthlessness and determination to hold on to power.
They would rather have a core northern military dictator in power than a southern leader or President.
And they are prepared to kill anyone, no matter how highly placed, who stands in their way or who attempts to  stop them.
The only options that exist if they are to be stopped is, firstly, if someone beats them to it by effecting a "progressive" Rawlings, Orkar or Nzeogwu-type coup of junior southern and Middle Belt officers.
This would lead to massive loss of life and to civil war and it is therefore unacceptable.
The other option is for the southern and Middle Belt civilian population to come together and march the streets in an attempt to resist military insurrection in the name of fighting for and attempting to preserve democracy.
That would be the best option but sadly we do not have a very good track record when it comes to protesting against injustice and the truncuation of democracy and this is especially so because the core north will openly support the coup and hail it.
However one thing is clear this time around: if a coup led and inspired by the core north and the FN takes place simply to keep a southerner out of power it will signal the end of Nigeria as a united country.
Such is the anger and frustration in the south and Middle Belt today about the excesses, abuses of power, wickedness, bondage and arrogance of the north that there is likely to be a very violent reaction to any northern coup.
This may well lead to the disintigration of the Federation and when it gets to that point even the army will be hard pressed to keep us together as one nation.
The likelihood is that it would lead to a second civil war because even the army would be split down the middle along regional, ethnic and religious lines.
That is the catastrophy, madness, chaos and carnage that the northern ruling class are now leading us to and toying with in their insane quest to hold on to power.
That is where they are pushing us to with their obsessive and insatiable appetite and lust for that power.
It is for this reason that the plan by the cabal in Buhari's government and the northern ruling elite to effect a coup in order to keep power for themselves and their people and to stop a southerner from enjoying it must be condemned and resisted by ALL men and women of goodwill.
And as we condemn it we must prepare for a very strong reaction to it (and not just with loud and empty words) when they strike.
We must be ready to put our money where our mouth is. We must be prepared to risk our lives. We must be prepared to fight back and resist them with guns and bullets and every fibre of our being.
We must not let them steal our country from us right under our noses and deny us the right to wield power as the constitution dictates.
We must not let them abort democracy even though Buhari's rule can hardly be described as one and would be better described as a murderous and despotic civilian dictatorship.

Former Plateau State Governor’s media aide apologises for wiping his shoes with PDP flag

Ayuba Pam Dangwong was the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah David Jang. His facebook page says that he is currently a Senior Legislative Aide at House of Representatives. Don’t know why he wiped his shoes with his ‘former party’s flag. Below is his apology: “Last Monday, 15 May, 2017, I posted this on my facebook wall where I have over five thousand friends with closed to a thousand on queue waiting for confirmation.
I realize the wrong I did and how disdainful it was in the first place. Indeed, it was contemptuous, disparaging, scornful and, to say the least, derogatory! I honestly feel too, a sense of responsibility to remediate my improper conduct cognizant of the fact that it went as far as creating pang and hurting my esteemed family, friends, colleagues and above all my former party-the PDP
 I am sad-faced!
I accept full responsibility too, that I authored the said post without any input from either my family, friends or colleagues! The idea was entirely mine, initiated, nurtured and executed without a second thought! It’s a deep would which scar I accept to live with in a long time to come! Sad!
INDEED, I AM SORRY!
I do sincerely apologize to my family, friends and colleagues all over for my impropriety. I was wrong! I overstretched the line!
Don’t see this apology as one of those hollow political gestures nor protective safeguard! NO! It’s intended to remediate my hurtful, disdainful and swaggering impropriety caused by my un-thoughtful offensive slip-up! Like I said, this is a wound deeply caused and which scar I accept is now part of my political history, let this apology too be said of me, that, yes, I regretted my impropriety and tendered an apology! Let this too, be added to the long list of political database
