See Why Mourinho sold me form chelsea -David Luiz

David Luiz has revealed that Jose Mourinho sold him to Paris Saint-Germain during his first stint at Chelsea, because he was too “optimistic”.

The Brazilian defender returned to Stamford Bridge last summer and on Friday night won the Premier League title under Antonio conto.
During his second spell, Luiz has established himself as a key member of the Blues squad and has played 32 matches already. He has now spoken about why he left the club the first time.
“Hey, that is not just Mourinho,” Luiz told The Daily Mail.
“In Brazil, they say it, too. Defender must be pessimists. I cannot be that. I am an optimist in my life.
“I don’t want to take my smallboat go against a wave of 20 metres. maybe I can go around the sides, and we’ll arrive. I’ll try to find a way.

Chelsea’s Moses credits Conte for reviving his career

Bengaluru – Chelsea’s Victor Moses has credited manager Antonio Conte for reviving his career at Stamford Bridge by converting him into a wing back during their Premier League title charge this season.
Moses

The 26-year-old Nigeria international was previously sent out on loan for three consecutive seasons by manager Jose Mourinho before Conte arrived this season and changed Chelsea’s main formation to 3-4-3.
That reshuffle brought Moses back into the starting lineup, and has helped make him one of the most consistent performers this season, making 37 appearances in all competitions.
“He (Conte) didn’t say to me, ‘Do I fancy playing wing back?’ He just put me in there, and after that he just kept on encouraging me,” Moses told British media.
“He went through what the position was all about, constantly talking to me in training to make sure I was improving in it. I took that in and I didn’t look back,” he said.
“I have been learning a lot defensively. And when I play against a winger…I understand what they are going to do before they try and go past me, so it makes it a lot easier.”
Moses said the position has added responsibilities at both the attacking and defensive ends, but he is enjoying the experience with every game.
“You need a lot of stamina to be able to play that position, and it’s a responsibility for me as well,” he added.
“I have never played that position before, but I am enjoying it.. The more games I play, the better I get.”
League leaders Chelsea hold a seven-point advantage over Tottenham Hotspur and can seal the title if they beat West Bromwich Albion away on Friday.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that Manchester United and Everton target Dries Mertens will soon sign a new contract with the club.

The 29-year-old winger has been one of the most effective forward players in European football this season and has played a key role in Napoli closing in on Champions League qualification.
His performances have naturally attracted the prying eyes of clubs in Europe with Manchester United and Everton believed to be interested in taking him to England.
However, Napoli have been negotiating a new and improved contract with Mertens’ representatives and the inclusion of a release clause was said to be the only bone of contention between the parties.
The club have reportedly agreed to include a clause and De Laurentiis is confident that Napoli will be shortly making an announcement of the Belgian signing a new deal with them.
De Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport when asked about Mertens’ contract talks: “I believe that we are close and therefore the signature should arrive shortly.
“Let’s say that in a week we should achieve what we have been talking about.”
Mertens, whose current deal expires at the end of next season, has netted 30 goals and provided 13 assists for Napoli this term in all competitions.

FIFA lifts Lionel Messi's Argentina ban after appeal

FIFA has lifted the four match ban handed to Argentina star Lionel Messi for disrespecting a match official.
Messi reportedly hurled "insulting words" at an assistant referee during a 1-0 win over Chile in March. The decision was appealed against.
A Fifa appeal committee on Friday said while his behaviour was "reproachable", the evidence was not sufficient.
He will now be available for matches against Uruguay, Venezuela and Peru as Argentina fight to secure a place at next summer's World Cupfinals in Russia.

A fine of 10,000 Swiss francs (£7,800) was also lifted.

Ronaldo revels in centre-forward role

No longer the flying winger of old, Cristiano Ronaldo showed his transformation to deadly centre forward has been completed to perfection as he netted a superb hat-trick in Real Madrid's 3-0 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The Portuguese forward, who also scored a treble in the quarterfinal against Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu, and five goals across that tie, is revelling in the central striker's role he has adopted this season.
He was picked alongside Karim Benzema up front in Tuesday's first-leg clash and produced a performance that marked him out as arguably the world's best number nine, despite being a recent convert to the position.
While the 32-year-old's critics point out he has lost some of his pace and the dribbling ability that allowed him to terrorise fullbacks in the past, the forward proved again that he remains as deadly as ever inside the area.
Tuesday's treble took his tally for Real Madrid to 399 goals in 389 games, although the forward claims he scored another in 2010 that was officially awarded to defender Pepe.
“I am very happy for the goals and for reaching 400 goals with Real Madrid,” said Ronaldo, including the disputed effort.
“We have to congratulate the whole team, we were tremendous. It fell to me to score the goals. We played well from start to finish and the goals came naturally.”
As well as a positional switch, Ronaldo has had to deal this season with being rotated by French coach Zinedine Zidane, who has dropped the Portuguese for some of the team's away trips to keep him fresh for the big occasions.
This has paid dividends with Ronaldo netting eight times in his last three Champions League games and overtaking Alfredo di Stefano as the all-time top scorer in European Cup semi-finals with 13.
“He has the instinct for goals, he’s unique,” said Zidane. “Sometimes he needs to rest and he knows that because he’s intelligent.”
Barring a miracle comeback by Atletico in the second leg Ronaldo will spearhead his team in the final in Cardiff on June 3, with the Portuguese looking in perfect shape to add a fourth Champions League medal to his collection.
